3D Modelling

2022

Project description

During my time at University of Ljubljana I had the opportunity to work on 2 separate 3D modelling and interior design projects that required me to make 3D models of 2 different rooms.

Interior planinng

The first step of the project was planning the interior of the room I was going to create. I created a birds eye view of the space and thought of what kind of furniture and layout I want to have. I also had to think of light sources and how the lighting will affect my final renders as no part of the room can be too dark.

3D Modelling the objects

After the initial planning was done and I had a cleat overview and vision of what I want to create it was time to begin modelling. I created each piece of furniture you can see in the final renders with the exception of plants. While working on singular pieces of furniture I had to pay close attention to the measurements of the objects in order to keep everything consistent and realistic.

Texturing

The final step before rendering was applying textures and correct lighting sources. Finding the right materials to fit the objects you modelled can prove challenging but its a crucial part in producing realistic looking renders. Another crucial step is getting the right lighting. For this project I used a combination of HDRI lighting which imitates daylight from outside of the house shining in through the windows and more local lighting in the form of lamps to give emphasis to certain objects and light up darker parts of the room.
